I think I'm finally back to normal after the fun filled weekend; Winter Picnic in Arlington Heights with the NSQG guild, Dinner Dance with my School, NASCAR in Atlanta and - for me - the dreaded TIME CHANGE! I love the "Fall Back" change but it takes me most of the year to get over the "spring ahead" change.
Winter Picnic was a blast! We usually sew alot at this event but this time I just cut out my new project - Cheater's Legacy. It's actually called Oak Leaves and Reel but this design is the probably the only way I would ever get this quilt done. I bought this project at the Salt Creek Quilt Show from my new favorite vendor - Quilt Merchant in Winfield, Illinois. They were a featured shop in Quilt Sampler. I fell in love with their booth (they'll be at Rosemont) the moment I saw their "Cheddar Quilt". This picture doesn't do it justice but you get the idea. After cutting out the main blocks, we took a lunch break then we set up our Sizzix machines. I wasn't too excited about this part of the day but I thought I would just roll with it - turned out to be quite fun! At one point in Sizzixing we had FOUR ladies squeezed into a tiny space at the end of ONE of our FOUR tables. We were all so excited no one even considered spreading out - we just kept taking over more and more tables but we still kept staying at the end of one table all crowded together and LAUGHING - why do we do this???? Moe took some great pics of us sizzixing!
But I've decided that I think I need to spend more time quilting! How do people do that? Maybe I need to watch less NASCAR! LOL
Dinner/Dance was a beautiful event! Food was fab! I managed to not bid on anything! I wanted to bid on the puppy but I knew Molly wouldn't like it.
NASCAR in Atlanta - Kyle won! What can I say - it coulda/shoulda been Carl - wouldn't that have been grand! I watched the truck race, Kyle sure can drive!
