I've decided that I need to put a few more quilts into this blog or you might think that the only thing I do is watch NASCAR!
The next few posts will contain pics of the quilts I entered in the Heritage Quilters of South Suburbia 2007 Quilt Show. I've been a member of this guild since 1980 and it has truly changed my life. I've built so many wonderful friendships! I met many interesting people and gone to lots of cool places, (Quilter's Hall of Fame and the Quilt Collection of IQS - got to see Grace Snyder's Basket quilt - just to mention two). I've also managed to do a little quilt shopping along the way.
This quilt was taught at a Midday Madness Class by Gail. It is the Delectable Mountains pattern. I did not like the way it was supposed to go together so I twisted and turned the blocks and made them my own! Part of the reason why I did this? - I didn't have enough fabric to put it together the traditional way. LOL I think it looks sharp! You can't see the quilting but it is great. It is done by Debbie on a long-arm machine. Debbie always does something special on every quilt of mine.
I've gotten to a place in my quilting art that I love to think "outside the box" and give myself the freedom to make my quilts my own! It's very fun!
Pups Update: The Peotone Pups have all been adopted!
