I've got two birds - Whitey and Billie! Two parakeets - love them!!!! Haven't had a parakeet since the 80's. How did I come up with the names? Well one bird is snowy white and the other is blue. How did I end up with two? A teacher at school wanted to get rid of them so I rescued them.
I have a great parakeet cage. It is probably about 50 years old! I guess you could call it the family parakeet cage. It is tall and round. The birds climb up and down all day long. They chirp and play with toys. I love the sounds they make - little tappy pecks, tiny yodeling sounds, chortling sounds and screamy sounds (when they get mad at each other).
They are very clean too - of course, it helps that the dogs eat up any seeds that fly out of the cage!
