Then I started to think about it ......... from 2000 to 2009
- my mom died
- my husband divorced me
- husband married again
- 9/11
- sold a big home
- got rid of lots of stuff so I could move into a smaller home
- bought a little home
- put a family dog to sleep
- adopted two great dogs
- left a job that I'd had for 28 years (with a commute of 1 1/2 hours, one way)
- started a new job (with a commute of 2 1/2 minutes)
- turned 50
- started dating
- stopped dating LOL
- prayed through the illnesses of close friends
- dealt with the death of a 26 year old co-worker
- worked through the ups and downs of my teaching career
- maneuvered through changing traditions
- developed new traditions
- sold a car that my husband had picked out
- bought a car that I liked
- sold that car
- bought another car that I liked
- went to DSL
- went to Washington, D.C.
- went to the Quilter's Hall of Fame
- saw the Grace Snyder quilt
- started to color my hair
- learned to text so I could vote on American Idol
- started to blog, tweet, librarything, goodreads, shutterfly, FB, im, skype etc.
- developed a great bird watching retreat right outside my door
- bought new windows for my home
- discovered the beauty of Door County and declared it my "someday" home
- learned to take really good pictures with my digital camera
- quilted in a 12 million dollar mansion
- discovered the world of NASCAR
I don't think of it as the worst decade maybe more of a formative decade ...........
