This has been a very exciting week! On Thursday, I spent the morning quilt shopping,at a great store in my area called Thimbles, with two good friends - I love to be everyone's personal shopper! I bought a yard of a hand dyed muslin, made to look antique, and a yard of this really COOL oatmeal colored wool. Both were great finds! After shopping we went to lunch then I took 6 quilts to Debbie my MQer! (I can't wait to see them quilted!). Later that night I met a library friend at a new restaurant in town for chips and salsa!

On Friday, after work, I picked up my friend Geri and we went to a pizza place for a FREE PIZZA. She used a birthday coupon! We felt like teenagers again because we listened to a live band while we ate! Okay, we did complain (to ourselves) about the band being so loud we could hardly talk but I guess that's what makes us NOT teenagers!

Okay now we're at the weekend and you know what that means - NASCAR! Kurt's car was awesome at Pocono! I taped Saturday's race and watched it on Saturday night but Sunday's race I watched from prerace to the end! Geri came over on Sunday - so I explained the fine points of a NASCAR race and later as we watched the White Sox game she explained the fine points of that to me! Our real purpose on Sunday was to set aside time to finish projects for the upcoming Guild show. The day was perfect because the weather was 108 degrees - in Chicago, that's HOT!!!!! We both finished one top and then after Geri left I finished another top (just adding borders). Both of my tops had Christmas themes. The first one was a cheater panel with a Snowman Family looking in a Window, that one I MQ myself the next day and I even put the binding on!!!!! The second quilt I took to Debbie the MQer !!!!!! That makes 7 tops at the MQer!

This week I took two classes - advanced Word and advanced Excel. I learned some great tips but I think so far my blogging class was the most fun!

The weather has turned cool. That's been a relief. However the last few mornings I've had a strange animal sighting - I've had a mangy looking coyote strolling through the subdivision about 10 AM. My dog does not like this intruder and neither do I. Today animal control came driving around but I don't know if they located him/her. I know I will be keeping a watchful eye for this character!

My music: Elton John's Greatest Hits
