This is the start of my Labor Day Weekend because I libraried yesterday. The day was crazy for a Saturday but crazy means busy and busy means the day is fast! So the work day ended at 5PM and then it was on to church. I was back home by 7PM for the RACE! Let me tell you, I don't like the big TV coverage of NASCAR because they don't give any of the pre/post stuff. To me it feels like the big TV "guys" treat the races like movies - 2 to 3 hours and DONE! I've recently developed the habit of running a video taope for 6 hours so I catch everthing! That only works on the channels that love racing! For last night's Busch race I now have a 6 hour tape but only about 2 hoursish of racing! I am already starting to think - what am I going to do when the season ends and I have to wait till February! Should I start hoarding tapes now?! Give me some advice? Does NASCAR have soundtracks from the tunes they play - will that help me get through the off-season?My new computer met the Geek Squad at Best Buy. I was very impressed with their service and skill. The Geek Squad was big reason why I bought my computer at Best Buy and they didn't let me down! Finally some place where you can get answers/service and not a run around. My Reads: The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini- intense, powerful, brutal, touching, not an easy read but a necessary one, a kind of a bookthat makes you "take your head out of the sand" My Sounds: Book of Secrets by Loreena McKennitt; Home by the Dixie Chicks
As I created this blog I reflect on the events of Katrina- my blabbing sounds trivial, trite and humdrum. Who can talk about the events of the day when others are homeless, hungry and without resources! My prayers go out to all touched by this powerful act of nature.
