What a day - NASCAR and White Sox baseball! I'm taping one while I'm at work and planning to watch the other. The weather for the Sox game should be cloudy and cold - perfect baseball weather.
Quilt show last weekend was fabulous. I did a demo on wool applique, shopped at the vendors, talked and laughed for two whole days. I didn't win the Guild raffle quilt but another member did so that is a good thing. Geri won ribbons for her jacket and for a Pat Sloan mini quilt. Gail won for a wool roving mini called "Spring had Sprung." Moe won for a bear and dog that she made.
I had tons of fun helping Mary at Top Shelf Quilts demo her iron off stencil pounce. It is the coolest new product I've seen in a while - makes me want to go out and buy the stuff just so I could pounce and then iron away. Mary used the product with a spider web stencil and as she did a little light bulb went on in my head - I could do an all over design like this on some of my mini's!
Keep in mind that through all the quilt show adventures the White Sox and NASCAR were weaving in and out. By Monday morning I was exhausted, luckily I had to go to a workshop on Curriculum writing so I didn't need to get up until 8AM - that's late for me! I had been up celebrating White Sox mania until 1AM. I just love ALL the post game celebrations.
