Excitement filled the air in Tinley Park, Illinois - Kathy and Judy of WGNradio broadcast their show from the train station! Like the postman, we (Rosemary, Gail, me) braved a terrible rain storm and fought through huge crowds to get our mission accomplished but we did it! We got to the station at 8AM so we could have a good spot. We sat with three other "girlfriends" and bonded immediately. Kathy and Judy were adorable. Steve was a handsome fellow and very tall (funny, he doesn't look that tall on the radio). We all traded favorite stories of Kathy and Judy while we waited for the show to start. It was very interesting to watch what goes on behind the scenes as the trio would read commercials, break for news and interact with the guests. The Tinley Park mayor was a delightful guest. He discussed the Mushroom farm that was a point of discussion earlier in the show. (Gail shared her fond memories of the mushroom farm to our little group during breaks in the show.) Before leaving, the mayor presented the ladies with Village gift bags. During the whole show my camera was working overtime - if anyone carried a briefcase I took their picture. I kept asking the table group - "Is that somebody?" and then I'd take their picture. I took one gentleman's picture three times because I thought he was the mayor! Soon it was time to say goodbye and wish them well but not before getting autographs. I must say - A good time was had by all!
