My Birthday Month!

It's the start of my birthday month and how did I begin the celebration? By sitting down at my dining room table, watching my birds and sipping delicious Hazelnut coffee from my singing birthday mug! Ain't life grand!

Yes it's hot - and I don't like heat but this weather makes me sew! Last night I made 6 quilted post cards using my new toy ( it's a wand thing that let's you attach Swarovski crystals to fabric). What a fun little tool! Now I want to glitter everything!!!!!!! It really gives pizzazz to these little postcards. I also discovered another "quilter's fact" No matter how many charms and doo-dads you have you will NOT have the size you NEED for the project you are working on! Isn't that always the way. I discovered this because when I bought the wandy thing I also bought four little packages of 4mm crystals, to practice. I really could have used smaller ones for the post cards but it worked out anyway. And they are cute!

I also cut out block #3 (out of 12) of the alternate blocks in L&C. I am really motivated to finish because now I'm on the other side of the quilt mountain, so to speak, and I can see the completed quilt top in view. These alternate blocks are very cool! I love the colors!
