Sunday was a wild day! Thank goodness NASCAR was Saturday (yeah Kevin!) because the Stamping Expo came to Tinley Park. Geri and I were going to the event but at the last second Geri had a chance to go to a Sox game and sit behind home plate, which is too cool to miss so we moved into plan B - go to the convention, do it fast -and when we walked into the expo and saw 20 to 25 vendors we thought "piece of cake, we can do this in an hour." An hour later we were still only on the first row of 4 vendors - so much for Plan B! We knew we had a time crunch problem. At one booth Geri did "personal shopping" and found these adorable dry-erase CRAYONS AND tiny ERASERS! I bought a set for my class! I actually thought I was not going to buy anything and save my money for the bus trip and Mancuso show. LOL At the next booth we bought these cool stamps that you put on an acrylic stamp holder so they become interchangeable with one acrylic block. At the next booth these ladies were selling purses that show off your collection of ATC's! I forgot to tell you - Artist Trading Cards were HUGE at this show!!!!!!!!!! They had stamps that were sized to fit and everything you wanted. I bought a great book to get me started (I even made an ATC last night.) At that point Geri needed to go home so she could go to the game. As we were driving Geri said why don't you go back to the show and see all the other vendors. Good idea!
Back to the show ....walking, walking.........As I got to the last row I knew I was in trouble so I began to "mentally yell" at Geri for leaving me alone at this show! I spent most of my money at two booths in the last row! I bought a WHOLE kit at the booth from a gentleman that sells embossing stencils. He had a wonderful way of selling his product but what really sold me was the chalk! As soon as he embossed and colored an ATC I was hooked. I bought his beads, glue and icing, too! Check out his website.
Then I turned around and saw this HUGE booth with the COOLEST stamps!!!!!! This lady designs her own stamps. I bought one stamp set that makes boxes and another stamp set that makes folios and one stamp that when you fold it, looks like a real sweater ( I made one last night). You can use those cool papers from the scrapbooking stores and then embellish it! I also bought this dog head with arms that you can put around candy which would be perfect for Halloween. I bought such fun stuff! Last night, Monday, (because when I got home Sunday I started to do an embossed card, got all set up and realized my kit didn't have a stylus. So Monday after school I went to Archiver's and bought a stylus............ and more dog stickers!) I made my first embossed ATC (using my new stencils and chalk)! I was so proud of myself!!!!!! I also made a Molly "bag book". I was very inspired!!!!
