End of the Polar Vortex?

The winter has been tough but at this moment it's 59* and the snow piles are gone!  We've spent three months mostly inside with limited amounts of walks outside.  The patio was put to good use by both dogs.  I think they were as thankful as I was that we had a back-up plan.  The snow and ice combos were bad but especially for Tony's short legs.  I ended up wear shoe trackers for almost every walk.  I had three different types of spikes - "bad" weather, "worse" weather and then "the worst" weather. We cut out morning walks as too treacherous.  Some days we could only walk once - in the afternoon. On other days I would dress for the winter weather and then stand out on the patio with the dogs.  I guess you could call it "pretend walks"!
However Molly's adventurous spirit seemed to soar even as the conditions outside worsened.  She would search out every 20 ft. snowdrift and snow plow push she could locate and then start to climb.  Her very first climb took her to a fork in a mature oak where she ended up almost eye-to-eye with a bird's nest.   I don't know who was more shocked - Molly or the birds! She wanted more and more, higher and higher - PLEASE! She seemed to be searching for her inner Border Collie spirit as she climbed the banks. But not Tony!  He was content to watch her climb from the VERY firm ground - ALWAYS!
