Here's the next quilt! This one doesn't look like much but it is striking! It is a pattern from Laundry Basket Quilts and designed by Edyta Sitar. This lady is so wonderful you MUST have her come to your guild to do a program and teach some classes. Edyta is the best teacher I've experienced. She is kind and patient but she will not let you quit on y seams. She is determined that you will come out of her class conquering your sewing machine. Anyway, this quilt was a 2 year old UFO. I bought the pattern at Edyta's booth at a local quilt show (that's where we met her for the first time). I bought the kit (I don't have a batik stash) at Thimbles in Lockport. I can't tell you how many times I traced the pattern - once to plastic, twice to different types of fusible - at least that's what I can remember! After I fused everything I held it up and stuff started to fall off!!!! I am the "Queen of Fusible" so I got very frustrated. At that point I quit the kit and put it away. It sat on a chair in my living room for a very long time because I wasn't sure if I liked it. Then I moved it upstairs to the sewing room (UFO limbo) because I couldn't decide how to quilt it. That part took a year (keep in mind this is a 12in. by 18in. miniature). Next thing you know it's the Sunday before the turn-in day (Tuesday) for the 2007 quilt show entries. I decide that I am going to quilt this little top. Moral of the story: don't think about the project just do it! I did all kinds of cool machine quilting - at least for me it was pretty adventurous. I even did a neat swirly pattern under the pot, to show depth I think! LOL I felt very artistic by the end of this little project.
