February 1st, 2006

I can't believe that it's the second month of the New Year. Didn't I just put up Christmas decorations? Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells..... no snow here! Can Spring be far behind? I still think we are in for at least one big snow! A "Snow Day" kind of snow!

How many more days to Daytona? I now have Speed channel which means I am able to absorb more and more about this fast growing sport. Let's go racing....

Quilting - I joined the Thimbleberries Club at my local quilt shop. Month 1 = first two blocks AND they are .............DONE! Cute quilt and a fun group. It's a great outlet for talking about quilts and shopping. I'm also still cruising through my Lewis and Clark quilt. The store that sponsored it comes to my guild in May or June and my hope was to have it finished by then but now I don't know if it's possible. Plus I just found a Peppermint and Sassafras quilt kit I bought at Rosemont and now I want to do that!!!!!! And I found a WOOL kit that was from Rosemont and is very SPRINGY so I want to start that project too! And to top it off a friend told me she has a friend with Lab puppies that they are going to put down if they can't give them away!!!!!!! You know what that means!!!!! I did finish my Blizzard quilt and I FOUND the Bible Quilt (Jan Patek) that I had started and almost finished so that goes on the "to do" pile. Should I speak the phrase that all quilters dread - I will not buy anything at Rosemont! Wait a minute Country Threads will be there!!!!!! Let's not speak too soon.

At one of my local guilds (I belong to 3 guilds.) we are trying to deal with our dwindling number of members. This guild is small, social and without a quilt show. It has always been a fun guild but we have suffered because we can't find a meeting room within our budget - as in free! So we are in a state of flux.... should we disband or go back to our roots and host social quilting every month. What to do, what to do!

Music - The Very Best of Wilson Pickett
Book - The Mermaid Chair
