After feeling that the WTC bombings had all but been forgotten I encountered a classroom of first graders that still remembered. During a "free" drawing moment the children expressed the sadness that lingered in the soul of America. One of the children showed me a picture that she had drawn of the two upright towers with a heart floating above. She told me this picture was to help everyone feel better because she knew 9-11 was a very sad day! When I asked her more about it many of the other students spoke up about how sad they felt. Many had seen images on TV - they knew what they were talking about! I told the little girl that seeing her picture did indeed make me feel better.
Thank God for the children of America!
