Denny Hamlin won! YEAH!!!!!! Now on to the All Star weekend.... and making a decision about TIVO. I can't keep track of all the different races and the different channels so that may lead me to a TIVO system of some type. I just received my FIRST official NASCAR sweat shirt, Winston Cup - totally cool! (Thanks Moe and Jay!)
Quilting? I'm still trying to get the binding on my purple lap quilt DONE. Went to Thimbleberries club at the beginning of the month so I need to do that homework. I also need to...... you guessed it .......... CLEAN the sewing room. I've been just plopping stuff in the room since Rosemont so now it is a COMPLETE disaster.
New craft alert - Stamping! I just co-hosted a Stampin' Up party with my friend Geri. Our demonstrator Penny taught the group how to make 3 cards using the Stampin' Up products. I am hooked. They are fun, easy, can be personalized and don't take a ton of time to produce.
Just finished two good books - The Man Who Talks to Dogs by Melinda Roth and Miracle Dog: How Quentin Survived the Gas Chamber by Randy Grim. The Miralce Dog felt very much like a sequel to the first title so if you read them it's a good idea to read them in order. The books tell the story of Randy Grim, the founder of Stray Rescue in St. Louis. They tell of his motivation, how he learned to do what he does for all the stray dogs and how his rescue group grew. I also saw another story - each rescue brought Randy a healing to his own troubled spirit. The books also provide valuable insight into the huge homeless dog problem in America. They also give concrete ways to help.
Any teachers out there? You must explore a wonderful set of books - all about a yellow Lab named Danny. These books are great for early/easy readers, say kindergarten and first grade. I spotted these books when I attended the IRA convention in Chicago. Did I tell you? IRA convention was awesome! I could have just visited with the vendors for three days, that's how much information was available.
