Summer is for Quilting!

If you noticed the dates on my blogs, they don't match with the date at the top. Some of this happens when quilting, traveling with quilting friends and celebrating with quilting friends gets in the way but that is a GOOD THING! I have been finishing up a pile of tops. My main goal is to finish the primary blocks for my Lewis and Clark quilt, otherwise I'will be sewing longer than they traveled! When they are finished I'm popping a champagne cork! The best thing about a BOM is that it challenges you as a quilter. This L&C BOM challenges my piecing techniques. These blocks are difficult for me because they require me to be more precise than I usually care to be, but that's good because I need that structure. I am now up to block 11 only two more to go.....

I am also continuing to keep up to date on my Thimbleberries BOM. I finished putting the borders on my Slash Your Stash quilt. And here it is - don't you love the double pink border! It's all done in a feedsack packet I found when I cleaned out my sewing room. I just cut the borders on my
re-designed Delectable Mountains quilt and I'm exploring a new quilting road called Postcard Quilts. Now I can meld my two favorite hobbies - stamping and quilting ! Here's a picture of my first postcard but not my last! LOL When I first discovered that I could put the two together my mind just exploded with ideas! I'm also showing off my purple quilt. It's simple and you can personalize the center part with whatever fabric you can find. You can also make it bigger or smaller! Isn't that great - I found the sample at Stitches and Stuffing in Naperville, Illinois. Notice I used big rick-rack (loving it) and the light purple is chennille. My friend, who machine-quilted it, went in and out of the chennille rows - pretty cool!
Keep sewing!
